I never wanted to make a difference in the world by curing cancer (although that would be a nice thing to be able to do) or by inventing the next big thing.
No, I’ve always wanted the difference I make in the world to be very personal. In my lifetime, I hope that someone’s life is changed and is different (for the better) because of a word I’ve said, a smile I’ve given, a listening ear I’ve provided or a random act of kindness I’ve performed.

I have had the opportunity to teach young people to read and to show them how to enjoy the written word. These moments have been the most satisfying of my life.
My desire is to continue to make an impression on youngsters with the written word. When a child looks at me with their eyes beaming and realization that they can read, I feel like I have done a little part in changing the world around me. Now if I could only be involved in this scenario about a million more times, I would of done my part in changing the world around me.
That is awesome!
